Built to last, not just for day one

A good patio is as much about what you cannot see as what you can. We lay every patio on a proper sub-base with the right falls for drainage, so water runs away instead of sitting on the surface.

In our climate, that groundwork is what keeps a patio looking its best season after season, without moss, movement or puddles.

Indian sandstone

Indian sandstone is a natural stone with real character. No two slabs are quite the same, and the warm buff, grey and multi-coloured tones suit almost any garden, from a traditional cottage to a modern new build.

It has a naturally riven surface with good grip underfoot, and it usually works out better value than porcelain. It is the material homeowners ask us for most, and the results speak for themselves.

Porcelain

Porcelain is the low-maintenance, contemporary choice. It is dense and colour-stable, so it resists staining, moss and fading, and a quick wash keeps it looking new.

The clean, uniform finish works beautifully with modern extensions and bi-fold doors, and there are slip-resistant options that suit wet Scottish winters. Not sure which way to go? John will bring samples and give you honest advice.

Paths, steps and edges

Paving is not just patios. We lay garden paths, steps and edgings to tie the whole space together, matching materials so everything feels considered rather than added on afterwards.

A new patio often goes hand in hand with a fresh driveway or a bit of garden landscaping, and we can look at the whole outdoor space in one visit.
